Oklahoma builds plenty of momentum entering Nebraska week
How’s that for a turnaround?
Oklahoma rocked Western Carolina to the tune of a 76-0 victory on Saturday. Some thoughts following the game:
Intensity was high: It’s understandably difficult to get excited for this type of game for fans, and I imagine there’s a lot of that with players as well. But the energy was exactly what you would hope for after a discouraging Week 1 performance. The stadium was rocking. The team never let its foot off the gas, even late into the fourth quarter. Take it as a small win for coach Lincoln Riley’s game management, but the Sooners are far from completely regaining trust that they can close out the second half.
Rattler looked comfortable: OU quarterback Spencer Rattler wasn’t awful in Week 1 but there was clearly something bothering him. Whether that was a lack of focus or just shaking offseason rust, Rattler looked decidedly better on Saturday, and I’m not just talking about in the context of playing an inferior opponent.
